We appreciate the importance of protecting our customers' personal information and recognise the trust placed in us when you supply your personal information to us.
Crown Equipment Pty Ltd and any related entities ("Crown" and "we") are committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy, accuracy and security of your details. Crown is bound by the National Privacy Principles ("NPPs") under the Privacy Act 1988 in the way we handle personal information. As part of complying with the NPPs, we have implemented a Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Statement is provided to make you aware of how Crown strives to protect your privacy in the way that it collects, uses and manages your personal information.
What Information Do We Collect and How Is It Used?
Crown may collect any or all of the following personal information from you: your name, your occupation, your current and previous addresses, your date of birth, your telephone numbers, your bank account or credit card details, your drivers licence details and your email address.
The personal information may be collected in a number of ways; directly from you when you provide information by phone or in documents such as an application form; from third parties, such as our related businesses or credit reporting agencies; from our website; or from publicly available sources of information. We collect and use your personal information for limited purposes associated with business dealings and transactions between you and Crown. These will include the provisions of goods and services. We will not use or disclose any personal information about you other than for the purpose for which you have given it unless required or authorised by law.
Disclosure to Third Parties
In some circumstances Crown may disclose your personal information to third parties. In such cases, we prohibit the third party contractors from using your personal information except for the specific purpose for which we supply it. For instance, your information may be disclosed t0:
" third parties to whom Crown contracts out specialised functions such as mailing houses, printing companies, marketing and telemarketing services, market research, debt recovery agents, information technology services, etc. but only for the purpose of providing the service that has been contracted out;
" credit-reporting and fraud-checking agencies;
" credit providers for credit-related purposes such as credit rating and financing;
" our professional advisers, including our lawyers, accountants and auditors, etc;
If you choose not to provide some personal information, we may not be able to provide you with services you require or with all the services we are able to provide our customers.
If you send us an email
When you send us an e-mail containing personal information we will endeavour to keep the information contained within it confidential. The content of the email can sometimes be monitored by our internet host for maintenance and fault detection purposes as well as for legal compliance.
We may send your emails to our branches and dealers to action. The information could also be entered into our internal database. We endeavour to ensure that your information sent by email is protected although it should be noted that mail is not a secure method of communication and if you are concerned about contacting us in this manner please use fax or phone as supplied below.

Direct marketing
As a means of keeping our customers up to date on new products, special offers and promotions, Crown regularly sends electronic up-dates.
Your personal information will be used for this although we will always offer you the opportunity to "opt out" of receiving the information contained within the correspondence.
Security & Accuracy
Crown takes all reasonable security measures to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, destruction, misuse, modification or disclosure.
Except as specifically stated in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your personal information with a company that is not associated with Crown. We will not use or disclose any personal information collected about you other than for the purpose for which you have given it to us unless required or authorised by law. Crown will try to ensure that the personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up-to-date. The accuracy of the information we hold will largely depend upon the information you provide. So please let us know of any errors in personal information that come to your attention and keep us up to date with any changes in your personal information, such as your name or change of address. We will then take all reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
Access to your information
Subject to any exceptions provided by law, you are able to access and update your personal information at any time. If you wish to do so, please contact us. You may be required to put any such request in writing for security reasons. Crown reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for searching for and providing access to your personal information.
If you have a complaint regarding the way in which your personal information is being handled by us, please contact us in the first instance. If we are unable to reach a satisfactory solution through negotiation, you can request an independent person to investigate the complaint such as the Privacy Commissioner.
